Thayne Town Council Special Budget Hearing, June 25th, 2008

PRESENT: Mayor Don Aullman. Councilmembers: Lindsay Spencer, Lorell Woolley and Jim Bartleson. Clerk Joan Jensen.

Mayor Aullman called the meeting to order and asked Councilwoman Spencer to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. With only two members of the council present at the beginning of the meeting, Mayor Aullman stepped down as Mayor to act as a councilman until we had a full quorum.

Mayor Aullman closed the regular meeting and went into executive session with John Abrams. The minutes of the executive session will be kept in an envelope and sealed.

Mayor Aullman closed the executive session and re-opened the regular meeting and resumed his role as mayor with the arrival of Councilman Bartleson.

With no written comments or objections, Mayor Aullman asked for approval of the liquor license renewal for Dad's Bar. Councilwoman Spencer made the motion to approve the renewal. Councilman Bartleson seconded the motion.

Council reviewed Ordinance # 249 regarding the budget for General, Water, Fire Department, Thayne EMT's, and Severance funds for fiscal year 2008-2009. Councilman Bartleson made a motion to approve Ordinance # 249 on 3rd (third) reading. Councilwoman Spencer seconded the motion.

Council reviewed Ordinance # 250 regarding the town’s Sewer Funds for fiscal year 2008-2009. Councilman Bartleson made the motion to approve Ordinance # 250 on 3rd (third) reading. Councilman Woolley seconded the motion.

Council reviewed Ordinance # 251 on 3rd (third) reading. This ordinance provides for the mill levy for the Town of Thayne for fiscal year 2008-2009. Councilman Bartleson made the motion to approve Ordinance # 251. Councilwoman Spencer seconded the motion.

Resolution 2008-3 regarding adopting an investment policy for the Town of Thayne was approved in a motion made by Councilman Bartleson. Councilman Woolley seconded the motion.

Resolution 2008-4 was approved in a motion made by Councilwoman Spencer and seconded by Councilman Woolley. This resolution is an agreement with the Thayne Senior Center for the town to assist in providing services for the senior citizens of Thayne.

Town council will meet with Sunrise Engineering, July 8th, 6:30 p.m. regarding the water and sewer studies.
